Founder's Letter

Lotz of Loyalty Allison Lotz Founder

Dear Friends and Supporters,

My name is  Allison Lotz, and I am honored to introduce you to Lotz of Loyalty, a mission born from my life’s journey, my family’s legacy, and my passion for both service and the healing power of dogs.

I was born and raised in Staten Island, New York, and grew up watching my father dedicate his life to protecting others as an FDNY firefighter for 22 years. On September 11, 2001, he was among the countless heroes who responded to the attacks in New York City.

That day changed my life forever. Seeing the toll it took on my father and our community inspired me to serve. At 17, I enlisted in the United States Marine Corps as a Combat Photographer under Combat Camera, determined to give back and protect those who risk everything for our country.

During my 12 years of service, I captured stories of courage, resilience, and sacrifice. I also served as a Sexual Assault Prevention and Response (SAPR) Victim Advocate, supporting service members through some of the most challenging moments of their lives. This experience opened my eyes to the mental health battles faced not only by military personnel, but by all first responders—and the critical need for compassionate, ongoing support.

One thing I have witnessed repeatedly is the transformative power of dogs. Their loyalty, companionship, and ability to bring peace in moments of struggle are unmatched. With Lotz of Loyalty, I aim to pair trained support dogs with veterans and first responders, creating life-changing partnerships that foster healing, resilience, and hope.

By supporting this mission, you are not just helping provide service dogs—you are restoring strength and connection to those who have sacrificed so much for us all.

Thank you for believing in our mission. Together, we can create a legacy of loyalty, compassion, and healing.

With gratitude and dedication,

Allison Lotz

Mike Iglio, Lead Trainer

Genesis K-9 Training Logo

For Mike, the bond between human and dog has been a guiding force for nearly five decades. His journey began at just two years old, lying on the stomach of his German Shepherd “Duchess,” one of the few people she would allow that close. From that moment, Mike’s life has been intertwined with dogs of all breeds and temperaments—Huskies, Mastiffs, Labradors, Poodles, Belgian Malinois, and many more.

His experience extends beyond personal companionship. As a police K9 handler, Mike partnered with “Nitro,” a Czech-trained working dog, navigating high-stress situations with precision and trust. Over the years, he has trained hundreds of dogs for families, service work, and specialized purposes, earning a reputation for his unique ability to connect with canines others might consider challenging.

Before law enforcement, Mike taught children with physical, emotional, and learning disabilities, holding a master’s degree in special education. This background honed his skill in task analysis—a method he now applies to understanding canine behavior, identifying the root of challenges, and developing effective training plans.

As a graduate of the Animal Behavior College and a member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers, Mike adheres to the highest standards in his work. In his role as Lead Trainer for Lotz of Loyalty, he combines decades of hands-on experience, service-oriented discipline, and compassionate understanding to help build life-changing bonds between dogs and the people who need them most.

Highly Trained Support Companions

At Lotz of Loyalty, we believe in honoring the sacrifices of our veterans, first responders, and Gold Star Families by pairing them with highly trained support dogs. These loyal companions bring peace, purpose, and a lifeline to those who have given so much for our country and communities.

Our First K-9

K9 Probie is currently enrolled in our pilot program with our first recipient, who is a retired NYPD Detective who responded on 9/11. K9 Probie is working hard to ensure we have the highest standards in training our emotional support dogs. This pair will be united in early 2026. Follow along to see this life-changing bond!
